What is the Key Word to Describe the Bible?

Looking at the main characters so far from Genesis: Adam, Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Joseph and Moses the rhythm is clear. Under the direction of god these stars of the bible promote a single description: VIOLENCE.

The bible promotes the birth of god and his influence upon earth. The people in his image are the followers. God’s image not of his physical form because people were already around the world, long before he came into the picture – but of his influence.

Humanity evolved on earth over millions of years and this is different to the birth of god’s nation which only commenced 6,000 years ago. Genesis is about the birth of a godly invasion upon an already existing world.

The stories in the bible shows evidence of a god infiltrating our world, murdering those people who stood in his way. It is clear this tribe of godly influenced people started from a couple of kids in a pocket of the Far East, their names Adam and Eve. They were born from parents who obviously abandoned them and left them to commence a new nation of people. This bloke god must have stumbled across them and raised them as his own – maybe this is why he keeps referring to himself as Father.  Perhaps god then proceeded to make up fantasy stories of their beginning because he couldn’t really tell the truth and say their parents abandoned them. But because this god couldn’t have kids of his own, told them he created them, from dirt in the ground no less. God did not hold a medical degree – obviously. Forget about the whole incest thing when Adam and Eve have their kids, because the bible is littered with incest, god really didn’t care. This bloke god even created an alter ego of himself called the devil to keep those kids in line.

Then god masterminded a way to use these kids to commence a domination and dictatorship. At the time places like Mesopotamia and particularly Egypt were bustling cities of commerce. By all accounts they had derived from an even distant nation of people from Sumer – The people of Sumeria. There is even evidence of written material dating back 10,000 years or more. Something happened back then. The known world was smaller than it is today – we think. Today we have very much explored most of this planet. Ah yes, a few pockets remain untouched. Communication, it appears, was limited so just how much of the world back then was occupied – we are still unsure.

The Sumerians, whom we are guessing were one of the earliest advanced civilizations compiled a biblical type book, rather like the one copied for the purpose of the bible. Yes a lot of the contents of the bible particularly Genesis was a rewrite from Sumeria. It appears this first script was more of a fairy tale beginning, perhaps it was a kids book ah, but how adults love kids books.

I dare say the Great Flood of Antiquity known to have happened in ancient times may have had a hand in the matter of people collapsing back to a sort primitive existence. The last Ice Age, was around 14,000 years ago. So this Ice Age followed by massive flooding and throw in a few volcano’s and yes it would give the opportunity for any con artist to make out a god like character.

People have survived and survived over time. I feel it was knowledge which was lost on a large scale. People keen for a new direction or for someone to take the steering wheel to organize everyone may have been appreciated. And in comes the Pharaoh’s, the kings of antiquity. I would think it is the stronger who survive and in a battle the dirtiest player often wins. A winner does not mean that person is a good person, in fact to win it is almost a necessity to be cruel and dirty – just like god.

6,000 years ago a bloke named god came out on top. So powerful was his dictatorship he influenced many people. This influence it seems scattered around the world. So was it the intentions of the authors of the bible to promote this god or to uncover this gods evil deeds. God conquered nations and infiltrated lands – god murdered without mercy. The authors of the bible do not hold back in describing how dangerous and cunning this god was. So I have to ask the question. Was the bible written to expose god or promote god because I have read the bible many times and the only person promoting themselves was god. The bible exposes the dangers of god and his influence.  

Many people and perhaps rightly so, I don’t know, think this was an alien invasion of some sort. There is a lot of evidence to validate this thought, but lets say this was purely a man made domination. A domination set upon by nasty and cruel but very educated people who knew how to manipulate a frightened population of people. How hard would it be after a major flood, meteorite hit or even the ending of an Ice Age to influence vulnerable people if you had the upper hand?

So to be fair, let us split up the evidence and look at both. Man Made God or Invasion from Elsewhere amongst the stars. You have probably guessed I favour Man Made God but I am not totally blind that I wouldn’t accept the Alien Theory, if it could be proved. We have two options and perhaps there are more. I don’t know. I agree I wouldn’t be smart to close my mind to more ideas. I am like that, I like to know more regardless if it suits my theory or not. I get equally excited if I am wrong as much as when I’m right. It is the nature of exploration.

The stories we need to uncover to give us more information, for starters would be more information on the boat people, The Indus Civilization and a few more I have up my sleeve. So before I continue with the biblical history I will, in the coming blogs, cover some known and opinionated history.

Oh and you got my answer for describing the bible in one word – yes: Violence. Have you noticed god does not promote education, exploration or any other …..ations for development?

Biblical Abraham’s Son Isaac finds a Wife

I find the biblical stories entertaining and more so as they gather momentum as the stories unfold.

Abraham’s story moves along to when Sarah, his wife dies and then to Abraham in his older age. Abraham requests his oldest servant to find a wife for Isaac. Abraham said that this wife should not come from the people in Canaan, but must come from the place where Abraham was born, amongst his relatives.

Abraham instructed Isaac to go back to his relatives land because God had promised the land they now occupied to his descendants. The servant went to a city in northern Mesopotamia. The servant waited at a well for Rebecca the daughter of Bethuel, who was the son of Abraham’s brother Nahor. She was a beautiful young girl and still a virgin.

Laban and Bethuel the parents of Rebecca said “Since this matter comes from the Lord, it is not for us to make a decision. Here is Rebecca take her and go. Let her become the wife of your master’s son, as the Lord himself has said.” And they gave Rebecca their blessing.

Abraham marries other women and has many more children. Eventually Abraham dies at the ripe old age of 175. Yet you will recall back after Adam and Eve, God said mankind will live no longer than 120 years (Genesis chapter 6).

Isaac married Rebecca, the daughter of Bethuel, who was an Aramean from Mesopotamia and sister of Laban. Rebecca had twins Esau and Jacob and before they were born, they struggled against each other in the womb. The Lord said to her, “two nations are within you. You will give birth to two rival peoples. One will be stronger than the other. The older will serve the younger.”

There was another famine in the land besides the earlier one during the time of Abraham. Isaac went to Abimelech, king of the Philistines, at Gerar. The Lord had appeared to Isaac saying, “Do not go to Egypt, and stay in this land, where I tell you to stay.”

So Isaac lived at Gerar. When the men there asked about his wife, he said that she was his sister. He would not admit she was his wife, because he was afraid the men there would kill him to get Rebecca, who was very beautiful. When Isaac was there for some time, King Abimelech looked down from his window and saw Isaac and Rebecca making love. Abimelech sent for Isaac and said, “So she is your wife! Why did you say she was your sister?” He answered, “I thought I would be killed if I said she was my wife,” Abimelech said, “One of my men might have easily have slept with your wife, and you would have been responsible for our guilt.” Abimelech warned all the people, anyone who mistreats this man or his wife will be put to death.

Like father like son, Abraham and Isaac both deceive the kings and prostitute their wives. This is a prophet the religious world looks up to. Where are their sons while all this was happening?

This highlights sexual affairs outside marriage encouraged by God’s prophets. What kind of mother does Rebecca represent? Where are her children? Is the bible saying family is not important? This is the same story as of Abraham and his elderly very pregnant wife Sarah flirting with the king. These stories represent, to the reader, abuse in marriage while the children (as with Rebecca) and unborn baby (as with Sarah) are neglected in their importance.

We are receiving a profile of sexual disrespect as well as lack of consideration for children; God does not promote family unity. Even with the introduction of God’s marriage system – This marital union is exposed with contradictions in the bible.

The Birth of the Biblical Isaac

A son was born to Abraham and Sarah in their very old age. And some time later God tested Abraham’s faith in him, he called to him. God said “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love so much, and go to the land of Moriah. There on a mountain that I will show you, offer him as a sacrifice to me.” 

Early the next morning Abraham cut some wood for the sacrifice, loaded the donkey, and took Isaac and two servants with him. They started out for the place that God had told him about. On the third day Abraham saw the place in the distance. Then he said to the servants, “Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I will go over there and worship and then we will come back to you.”

Abraham made Isaac carry the wood for the sacrifice and he himself carried the knife and live coals for starting the fire. As they walked along together, Isaac spoke up, “Father”, Abraham answered, “Yes my son” Isaac asked, “I see that you have the coals and the wood, but where is the lamb for the sacrifice.” Abraham answered “God himself will provide one.” And the two of them walked on together.

Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it. He tied up his son and placed him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then he picked up the knife to kill him. But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, “Abraham, Abraham don’t hurt the boy or do anything to him. Now I know that you have obedient reverence for God, because you have not kept back your only son from me. Your descendants will conquer their enemies.”

At what point is a person driven to believe he should sacrifice his own son? Test or not, this is an endurance that involves the murder of another life, the most precious of all, the life of your own child. This test instils the suggestion of ‘human sacrifice’ as an instruction from God. In history human sacrifice to appease the gods became common practice.

This is the point God is driving here. God is introducing the notion that humankind should abandon their minds and hearts to serve him. This is the basis of radical thinking today, even if the cost is one’s own child!

Human sacrifice floods our history books and was introduced by God himself! Supposedly a test of Abraham’s loyalty, this was actually a test of total mental control. It is only when a parent is told and accepts the challenge of murdering their child – that a total control of the mind has been gained.

The sad part of this story is Isaac follows his father in total trust, even when he asks his father; his father lies to his son. Isaac was being led like a lamb to the slaughter. This is a sample of blind faith, a faith that is needed to abolish common sense. This illustrates the power of suggestion and persuasion.

The power of suggestion is evident when a person views Abraham’s actions as glorious and an example of dedication to his God, while being blinded to the reality of the persuasion to murder as a show of loyalty. This godly invasion on humanity also magnifies fear instilled by God to obey. To this day, the fear of God is still the method employed to control the minds of innocents. This is the basis of Christianity. The shepherd, who watches his flock, is also the one who leads them to the slaughter.

If we  follow God’s example then we inevitably come to the conclusion that earthly life is meaningless.

Dramatic story of Abraham and Sarah

I hope I can put this together so you can understand this story of Abraham and Sarah. Mostly it will be in the form of a time line versus the activities.

The story starts with these characters being called Abram and Sarai. So Abram and Sarai were instructed by god to go to Canaan. But on arrival there was famine so they went farther south to Egypt. They travelled with their nephew Lot.

Before they entered Egypt, Abram told Sarai because she was a beautiful woman, they would kill him to have her. So he told Sarai to say she was Abram’s sister. And the court officials did see she was beautiful and the king sent for her. Because the king desired her god sent terrible diseases on him and his people. The king told Abram to take his wife and get out.

So in other words Abram lied about him being married to Sarai and the king innocently took his wife and because of Abram telling lies and prostituting his wife, and for this the lord promoted Abram as a prophet.

God told Abram his descendants would be slaves in a foreign country for four hundred years and he would punish the nation who enslaves them. This is in reference to the future time of Moses and that is a story in itself. I will cover that in future blogs.

Abram is told he will have many children. But Sarai had not borne him any children. So she gave Abram her slave girl Hagar. Hagar bore him a son and named him Ishmael and he becomes the ancestor of the Muslims and that is a whole other story as well.

Abram was ninety nine (99) years old when the lord came to Abram. It is then the lord changes his name from Abram to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah. The lord promises his descendants the land of Canaan – the Promised Land. If you recall on previous blogs I pointed out how Noah cursed Canaan and said he would be a slave to his brothers. The Promised Land is the same name.

Then the Lord appeared to Abraham at the sacred trees of Mamre and asked for Sarah. He said she would have a baby in nine months. She laughed because she was old and had stopped her periods. Abraham was also very old – 99 yrs.

Lot the nephew had already gone to Sodom and again this is another story.

Later Abraham moved to the southern part of Canaan. Again Abraham said his wife was his sister and so King Abimelech of Gerar had Sarah brought to him. But the lord stopped the king. And Abraham was a prophet.

“Then Abraham said she really is my sister. She is the daughter of my father, but not of my mother, and I married her. So when God sent me from my father’s house into foreign lands, I said to her, you can show how loyal you are to me by telling everyone I am your brother.” 

Abraham and Sarah are half brother and sister and they have a son Isaac who becomes the lineage leading directly to Christianity.

Thus the foundations of both Jewish and Christian belief stem from the seed of incest and deceit.

So does this mean nine months was very long or was the king attracted to ‘Sarah – a very old very pregnant lady’!

The first story of Abraham prostituting his wife she was known as Sarai and the second time he prostituted his wife she was known as Sarah. The Lord changed her name at the same time he told her she would give birth to a son in 9 months – Isaac. And she was very old. This confirms the king desired a very old and very pregnant Sarah.

What about the unborn baby? And what about family values? Was god selective on this subject?

So to tell lies, prostitute your wife who is your half sister who is very old and very pregnant makes for a great reference for the job of prophet.

Biblical Abraham and Sarah

Archaeologists have made efforts to find evidence of Abraham in the biblical history by matching the activities in the same geographical region to date his existence. The only time frame remotely close is 700 BCE in the area of Judah and this still conflict’s with the chronology of the bible. Overall most experts agree there is no evidence of Abraham to verify his existence except for the written biblical texts.

Abram, later called Abraham, is told to go to the land of Canaan. Abram is a descendant of Noah, son of Terah. You will recall Canaan was cursed by Noah and was told he would be a slave to his brother. Abram has been guided to a land by the same name.

On arrival in Canaan there was famine so they went farther south to Egypt, to live there for some time. Abram travelled with his wife Sarai – later known as Sarah as well as his nephew Lot.

This is one of the many stories of the bible which fascinates me and yet it has captured the religious world for different reasons. It is remotely possible an Abraham and Sarah who were first known as Abram and Sarai did exist. I doubt they existed within the capacity told in the bible.

The biblical history is within the region of Egypt and its surrounding area so therefore there is no necessity to include locations such as ancient China, the Americas and so on from the ancient world. As I have mentioned before there is evidence at the bottom of an ancient stone which references the biblical tribe of people from antiquity. Therefore this tribe did exist. But it is the impressive stories I find interesting.

The ancient sites of Mesopotamia thousands of clay tablets were discovered containing records of advanced astronomical calculations. This uncovered how advanced the civilization of Sumer was during that ancient time.

Sumerian history found on Sumerian clay tablets predate the Pharaohs. The Sumerian King Lists document all the rulers of Earth dating back many thousands of years.

The ancient history of Sumer is a time and place discussed very rarely. Many historians theorize the Bible was copied from the Sumerian Texts. The reason for mentioning this, besides its historical value, is the point that the bible is centred around Mesopotamia and therefore points to the knowledge repeated from Sumer.

Sumer was a very advanced civilization and where the first form of writing supposedly appeared. There is no evidence these texts speak of an Abraham and Sarah, so it is obvious this story was added by the tribe of people who chose to use a god as their symbol of hope.

As I mentioned before Abraham and Sarah, known then as Abram and Sarai were guided to a land called Canaan – the promised land. Noah had already cursed Canaan and as the bible stipulates Abram was a descendant of Noah.

Immediately this brings doubt to the starry promise of Canaan – a land the namesake of Canaan who was cursed and would be a servant to his brother. The depth of this curse is questionable because according to biblical systems curses and penalties were generational from father, son and so on. My question is why would this god lead his selected people to a land he has cursed?  Well the answer comes clear as the story unfolds in the bible.

Joseph in the Old Testament

There is a story in the Old Testament about a man named Joseph. He was the son of Jacob and Rachel. Jacob was the son of Isaac who was a son of Abraham.

During the time of Abraham, the Lord appeared to Abraham and told him “Your descendants will be strangers in a foreign land, they will be slaves there and will be treated cruelly for 400 hundred years but I will punish the nation that enslaves them”

According to the Jews and Christians the Lord prophesied the future. Except, I have a question. What is a prophesy?

As the story I am about to retell you will reveal – a prophesy is not a prediction of the future but instead a ‘Premeditated Plan’ – a planted seed.

The Premeditated Plan exposed to Abraham is the story of Moses and the Exodus. You may ask, what has this got to do with Joseph?… The answer is ‘everything’!  

Four Hundred years (400) before Moses came on the biblical scene a man named Joseph sought power in Egypt. Joseph was chosen by God to be manipulated into being imprisoned and by helping the king understand his dream was promoted to Governor of Egypt. The dreams the king had repeatedly experienced was about Egypt’s future of seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine. The dream showcases an interesting prediction and this is because the lands of Egypt, Canaan and all surrounding areas constantly suffered famine on an ongoing basis according to the biblical history. Famine was common.  

The Premeditated Plan of the Exodus kicks in with Joseph. God is with Joseph under the pretense of saving the people from hunger. Joseph tells the king he should store up food during the time of plenty so the people will have food for the time of famine. The king is impressed with Joseph and from his prison he is promoted to Governor over all of Egypt.

As Governor and under God’s direction, Joseph collected and stored in each city the foods from the fields around it. After the seven years of plenty – came the seven years of famine.  There was famine in every other country, but there was food throughout Egypt. Joseph opened up all the store houses and sold grain to the Egyptians. People came from all over the world because famine was severe everywhere.

On the surface this story sounds simple. But – it is not. There is no mention in the bible Joseph paid the people who grew the crop when he confiscated the grain to be stored. And yet the people had to buy the grain back. It was during this time Jacob sent his sons to Egypt to buy grain because there was famine also in Canaan. Jacob’s sons were Josephs half brothers. This particular story is extensive so rather than going into details now, I will move onto the part which connects Joseph to Moses. After a lot of drama Joseph invites his father Jacob’s family to come and live in Egypt. Meanwhile the people of Egypt  spend all their money on food. Joseph collected all the money and took it back to the palace. The Egyptians weak with hunger  begged Joseph for food. Joseph told them to bring all their livestock in exchange for food.

The following year they came to Joseph and said “We will not hide the fact our money is all gone and our livestock belongs to you, we have nothing left except our bodies and our lands.” Joseph bought all the lands in Egypt in exchange for food. Joseph then made slaves of the people from one end of Egypt to the other. This slavery included Joseph’s whole family who had already arrived in Egypt – the chosen people.

Joseph’s entire family lived in Egypt for 400 years until the birth of Moses and the Exodus. The chosen people were enslaved by Joseph who was Governor of Egypt. Joseph was guided by God.

Four Hundred (400) years later the Egyptians are blamed for enslaving the Jews giving the excuse and reason for God to create the Exodus. The Jews were enslaved by God and Joseph.

Therefore the prediction God  made to Abraham regarding his chosen people being enslaved for 400 years was actually a Premeditated Plan. This was seeded with Joseph. 

A master plan well-organized and executed.

Abraham and Sarah of the Bible

Abraham and Sarah from the bible were originally known as Abram and Sarai. The Old Testament covers the story of Abraham who is the father of Isaac. Christians acknowledge the story of Abraham as a part of religious heritage.

The story of Abram and Sarai in detail highlights some interesting information.

Abram is told to go to Canaan but instead goes further south to Egypt because there was famine in Canaan. On arrival in Egypt Abram told Sarai to say she was his sister and this way he would be treated well.  Sarai was very beautiful and the king saw Sarai was beautiful and so he took her.

Abram prostituted his wife to the king.

The Lord sent terrible diseases on the king and his palace people. The king asked Abram why he lied about Sarai. Abram took back his wife and the king allowed them leave with the gifts given to them of sheep, cattle, slaves and so on.

The king is punished for the misdeeds of Abram and Sarai.

Sarai was unable to have children so she gave her servant girl Hagar to Abram so she could have a child for her. Hagar became pregnant. But Sarai despised Hagar and so she ran away into the desert. The angel of the Lord told Hagar to go back to Sarai. Hagar gave birth to Ishmael and Sarai despised her more.

Then God appeared to Abram and told him he would no longer be called Abram but Abraham. God also said his wife Sarai would now be called Sarah.

There again Abraham asked his wife Sarah a second time to tell the king she was his sister.  Sarah was taken to the king.  God appeared to the king before he had come near her. The king told God Abraham said she was his sister.

This was the second time Abraham prostituted his wife.

According to the Lord back at Mamre, Sarah would have a son in nine (9) months.  As you will recall Sarah was very old.

So does this mean very old pregnant Sarah who was prostituted by her husband Abraham was desired by the king?

The bible has placed a marker with this story. This marker is the name changes from Abram to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah.  Some christians have suggested that Abraham prostituting his wife only happened once and the story was repeated but this is not true according to the bible. Abraham indeed prostituted his wife twice.  

The first time Abraham prostitutes his wife he is known as Abram and she was Sarai.

Then as the story unfolds it is after these events Sarah gives birth to Isaac.

What does this say about marriage?

What does this say about the protection of an unborn baby and the sanctuary of family?

And what does this say about incest?

God supports Abraham prostituting his very pregnant old wife who is his half-sister.
